Barco proudly sponsored the 3rd SKGH Radiology Symposium on 10 November 2018 as part of International Day of Radiology 2018—a worldwide celebration of developments and achievements in radiology. More than 150 radiologists and doctors converged at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. They’ve been treated to an enlightening program of presentations from experts in radiology, exploring topics related to the improvement of quality in radiology technology and practice.
Barco has invested years of research and development to raise the bar in quality that radiologists can expect from their tools. Our medical displays are improving the way in which radiology departments in hospitals all around the world operate. As sponsor, we are thrilled to have hosted the 3rd SKGH Radiology Symposium; bringing great minds together is crucial for expediating progress.

The conference was chaired by Dr. Salah El Rai, Consultant and Head of Radiology Department at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital (SKGH). The program of speakers included specialized presentations such as ‘Model to Improve Image Quality in Digital Radiography’ presented by Mr. Ahmed Atta, Senior Radiographer, Radiation Safety Officer at SKGH, and ‘Foundations and Applications for HIS, RIS and PACS System Informatics’ presented by Mr. Porferio “Jay-R” Valdez, PACS administrator, SKGH.

Barco also gave a presentation: ‘Quality Measures in Medical Display and Impact on Diagnosis’ presented by Osama Niazy, Barco’s Business Development Manager Di MEA.

The 3rd SKGH Radiology Symposium 2018 sure was an eye-opening experience for everyone in attendance.
